Custom Domain Short Links
Use your own domain for short links
Custom Domain Short Links let Premium users point their own registered domain (e.g. yourbrand.com) at MakerManifest so their short links display as yourbrand.com/abc instead of mkr.ms/abc. This gives your short links a fully branded appearance that reinforces your identity everywhere you share them.
Setup is one DNS record: add a CNAME at whoever manages your domain, then register the hostname in Dashboard → Custom Domain. Any registrar works — there is no proxy to enable and no SSL setting to find. MakerManifest issues and renews the HTTPS certificate for your domain itself, usually within about fifteen minutes of the record going live.
Custom domain short links are a Premium feature. The same short code continues to resolve on all platform domains — the custom domain is an additional entry point, not a replacement.
Key capabilities
- Brand your short links with your own domain (e.g. yourbrand.com/abc)
- One CNAME record at any registrar — HTTPS is issued and renewed for you
- The dashboard shows live what your DNS is doing while you wait
- Register and manage custom domains in Dashboard → Custom Domain
- Share your domain with other accounts — grant access by username
- Short codes continue to work on all platform domains simultaneously
- Premium plan feature
How to use it
Go to Dashboard → Custom Domain.
Decide which domain your short links should use. A subdomain such as go.yoursite.com is the usual choice, so it does not clash with your main site.
Add the CNAME record shown on the page at whoever manages your DNS. Any registrar is fine — you do not need to move your domain anywhere, and there is no SSL option to switch on.
Register that exact hostname on the same page. It will then show you live whether DNS has reached us yet, so you can tell waiting apart from a wrong record.
Wait. DNS changes are not instant and can take up to a few hours; HTTPS turns itself on within about fifteen minutes of DNS going live.
To display the domain on your links, go to Settings → Short Link Domain and select it.
Custom Domain is a Premium feature and is hidden in the "Just lists" experience.
