If you've been meaning to put together a public gear list but keep putting it off because it seems like a lot of work — this guide is for you. Here's how to get your first one live on MakerManifest in about 15 minutes.
Step 1: Sign up and claim your URL
Go to makermanifest.co/register and create a free account. Your profile URL will be makermanifest.co/yourusername — choose something you'd be comfortable sharing.
Step 2: Create a new list
From your dashboard, click New List. Give it a name — "My Workshop Gear", "Camera Setup", "Studio Equipment" — whatever fits your content. This becomes a separate page under your profile.
Step 3: Add your gear
Paste in product URLs — Amazon, B&H, Home Depot, wherever you buy your stuff. MakerManifest will fetch the product title automatically. You can override the title if you want a shorter or more descriptive label.
If you have a lot of items, use the Bulk Import feature — paste a list of URLs and they'll all be added at once.
Step 4: Set up your affiliate tags
In Settings → Affiliate Links, add your affiliate tags for any networks you're part of (Amazon Associates, Impact, ShareASale, etc.). MakerManifest applies them automatically to every matching link — you don't have to do it per-item.
Step 5: Organize with sections
Long lists are easier to browse when grouped. Add sections like "Camera Body", "Lenses", "Lighting", "Audio" — or whatever makes sense for your niche. Drag items between sections to arrange them.
Step 6: Publish and share
Your list is live immediately at your public URL. Drop it in your YouTube description, Instagram bio, or anywhere else your audience might want it. You can keep editing it — the URL stays the same.
